How does AI actually turn words into a scent?

It never asks you to speak in accords or top notes. Most people do not think in perfumery vocabulary, so when Neutron needs a decision it offers two or three concrete options instead of a blank field. That structured profile is then mapped by machine-learning models into individual notes and a full formulation. You also receive a name, a written scent story, and a breakdown of how each part of your story became a note.

Why is personalized AI fragrance possible now?

Capturing a subjective, unstructured idea — “the hour after a summer storm” — used to require a human expert sitting across from you. Large language models changed that: they can extract structured scent data from an unstructured personal story, and machine learning can translate that structure back into a formulation.

Big fragrance houses never built fast custom prototyping, because mass-producing a single perfume never needed it.
